Janelle Henderson

Janelle Henderson joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after nearly 10 years as the Director of the Center for Urban Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver and her most recent role as Deputy Director of Universal Preschool for the State of Colorado. Janelle’s passion for supporting others as they discover their path in life and work to improve their futures—while fostering community, allyship, and opportunities for success—is fulfilled in her role as Community Program Director. In this position, she teaches and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Leader Program. When she’s not working, Janelle enjoys long-distance running, music and the arts, baking, carpentry, and going to the movies with her husband, who shares her love of film.
