What to Expect from the Training Program

After you complete free dental assistant training, you will demonstrate skills in patient transport, chair preparation, x-rays, operatory equipment setup and maintenance, sterilization, other OSHA requirements, and tray setup by procedure (i.e. fillings, extractions, crowns etc.).

You will be prepared to assist the dentist in procedures by charting, anticipating suction, irrigation, and which instruments to have ready for the next step in the process. You will also gain basic familiarity with specialized skills such as impressions, hygiene process, coronal polishing.

If you choose to work as a dental receptionist, you will become familiar with front office processes such as scheduling, eligibility, patient histories, consent forms, HIPAA forms, and payments.

Where You’ll Train

You will spend seven weeks engaged in hands-on training at Visiting Ancillary Services. Training takes place from 7:45 am-5:00 pm and will give you all the tools you need to become a Dental Assistant.
